Bhagavad Gita
9.18

गतिर्भर्ता प्रभुः साक्षी निवासः शरणं सुहृत् । प्रभवः प्रलयः स्थानं निधानं बीजमव्ययम् ॥

gatirbhartā prabhuḥ sākṣī nivāsaḥ śaraṇaṃ suhṛt | prabhavaḥ pralayaḥ sthānaṃ nidhānaṃ bījamavyayam ||

Translation

I am the goal, the sustainer, the Lord, the witness, the abode, the refuge, the friend. I am the origin, the dissolution, the foundation, the resting place, and the imperishable seed.

Interpretation

Twelve aspects of the Divine's relationship to all existence: gati (goal — the destination of all journeying), bharta (sustainer — who bears up creation), prabhuh (Lord — the one with sovereignty), sakshi (witness — the pure observer), nivasa (abode — where all beings dwell), sharanam (refuge — the one to whom all can turn in crisis), suhrit (friend — the unconditional companion), prabhava (origin), pralaya (dissolution), sthana (foundation), nidhana (resting place for all at the end), and bija avyayam (the imperishable seed from which all springs). Every relationship is fulfilled by the Divine alone.
