तपाम्यहमहं वर्षं निगृह्णाम्युत्सृजामि च । अमृतं चैव मृत्युश्च सदसच्चाहमर्जुन ॥
tapāmyahamahaṃ varṣaṃ nigṛhṇāmyutsṛjāmi ca | amṛtaṃ caiva mṛtyuśca sadasaccāhamarjuna ||
Translation
I give heat; I withhold and send forth rain. I am immortality and also death; I am being and also non-being, O Arjuna.
Interpretation
The Divine as the force behind natural phenomena: the heat of the sun (tapami — I radiate heat), the giving and withholding of rain (the entire water cycle). And the ultimate pairs of opposites: amritam (immortality) and mrityuh (death), sat (being/existence) and asat (non-being/non-existence). The Divine contains and transcends all dualities. It is the ground of both existence and non-existence — the totality from which all relative categories arise and into which they dissolve. This is the ultimate nondual vision.
