Interpretation

The arc of the spiritual journey across many lives is described here. The yogi strives with prayatna (earnest effort), becomes samshudha-kilbisha (completely purified of all sins and karmas), becomes anekajana-samsidha (perfected through many births of accumulated practice) — and then goes to the highest destination (param gatim). The key word is 'then' — liberation is the culmination of a sustained journey that may span many lifetimes, but the direction is always forward, the goal always certain.
