Bhagavad Gita
2.31

स्वधर्ममपि चावेक्ष्य न विकम्पितुमर्हसि | धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते ||३१||

sva-dharmam api chāvekṣhya na vikampitum arhasi dharmyāddhi yuddhāch chhreyo'nyat kṣhatriyasya na vidyate

Translation

Furthermore, looking at your own duty, you should not waver. For a Kshatriya, there is no better engagement than fighting for righteous principles.

Interpretation

Having established the metaphysical foundation (the soul's immortality), Krishna now turns to Arjuna's specific duty as a Kshatriya warrior. 'Sva-dharma' — one's own duty — is not a personal preference but a sacred calling determined by one's nature and station. For a warrior, righteous battle is the highest calling.
