dehī nityam avadhyo'yaṁ dehe sarvasya bhārata tasmāt sarvāṇi bhūtāni na tvaṁ śhochitum arhasi
Translation
O Bharata, the soul dwelling within is eternally indestructible in all beings. Therefore you should not grieve for any being.
Interpretation
The conclusion of Krishna's teaching on the soul's immortality: since every being carries an indestructible soul, there is no 'victim' in the deepest sense. The body perishes; the soul continues. This is the basis of 'not grieving for any being' — not callousness, but the recognition that what is truly real in every being cannot be destroyed.
