Translation
By the grace of Vyasa, I have heard this supreme, most secret yoga directly from Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, speaking it Himself.
Interpretation
Sanjaya traces the lineage of transmission: by Vyasa's grace (the sage who composed the Mahabharata granted Sanjaya the divine vision), Sanjaya heard this supreme secret yoga directly from Krishna himself speaking it (sakshaat — directly, without intermediary). The chain of grace: Brahman-to-Krishna-to-Vyasa-to-Sanjaya-to-Dhritarashtra-to-us. Each transmission is miraculous; each receiver a link in the eternal chain of wisdom. We who read the Gita today are also recipients of this same grace, at the end of this long luminous chain.
