Interpretation

Sanjaya, the divine narrator who has transmitted the entire Gita conversation to the blind king Dhritarashtra through his mystic vision, now speaks for the first time in the closing verses. He describes what he has witnessed: 'adbhutam' — wonderful, miraculous — and 'roma-harshana' — causing the hair to stand on end with sacred awe. Even the narrator — the witness of the witnessing — is transformed by what he has heard. The sacred conversation between God and the seeking soul is always miraculous to those with eyes and ears to receive it.
