mayi cānanyayogena bhaktiravyabhicāriṇī | viviktadeśasevitvamāratirjanasaṃsadi ||
Translation
Unswerving devotion to Me through undivided yoga; a preference for solitary places; a dislike for noisy gatherings —
Interpretation
Three more: (1) mayi ananya-yogena bhakti-avyabhicharini — unwavering (literally: not-straying) devotion to the Divine through undivided yoga. Even in the middle of the philosophical catalogue of knowledge-qualities, devotion appears as central. (2) Vivikta-desha-sevitvam — preference for solitary places (not as antisocial behavior but as recognition that the inner journey requires quiet). (3) Aratir jana-samsadi — dislike for noisy gatherings (the preference for meaningful, deepening company over distraction).
