Interpretation

A crucial point: ordinary human eyes cannot perceive the Vishvarupa. The physical senses are calibrated for the physical world; the infinite cosmic form requires divyam chakshu — divine sight, a trans-sensory perception. This is an act of grace: divyam dadami te — 'I give you divine sight.' The vision is not achieved by the devotee's own striving but is granted by the Divine as a gift of grace. Krishna provides the instrument of perception before revealing the object. This is the divine paradox: even the capacity to see the Divine is given by the Divine.
