भक्त्या त्वनन्यया शक्य अहमेवंविधोऽर्जुन । ज्ञातुं द्रष्टुं च तत्त्वेन प्रवेष्टुं च परन्तप ॥
bhaktyā tvananyayā śakya ahamevaṃvidho'rjuna | jñātuṃ draṣṭuṃ ca tattvena praveṣṭuṃ ca parantapa ||
Translation
But by undivided devotion, O Arjuna, I can be known, seen in truth, and entered into, O scorcher of foes.
Interpretation
The way: bhaktya tu ananyaya — 'But by undivided devotion.' Only ananya bhakti (exclusive, one-pointed devotion) can: (1) jnatum — know Me; (2) drashthum — see Me in truth (tattvena — as I truly am); (3) praveshthum — enter into Me, merge with Me. Three stages of the highest relationship with the Divine: intellectual understanding, direct vision, and ultimate union. All three are accessible through bhakti alone. This verse is the great declaration of the Gita's bhakti path: devotion is the master key that opens all three doors.
