अर्जुन उवाच दृष्ट्वेदं मानुषं रूपं तव सौम्यं जनार्दन । इदानीमस्मि संवृत्तः सचेताः प्रकृतिं गतः ॥
arjuna uvāca dṛṣṭvedaṃ mānuṣaṃ rūpaṃ tava saumyaṃ janārdana | idānīmasmi saṃvṛttaḥ sacetāḥ prakṛtiṃ gataḥ ||
Translation
Arjuna said: Having seen this gentle human form of Yours, O Janardana, now I have become composed — restored to my own nature and my mind is clear.
Interpretation
Arjuna's relief is palpable: drishtva idam manusham rupam tava saumyam — 'Having seen this gentle human form of Yours.' Idanim asmi samvritta saceta — 'Now I have become composed, my mind is collected.' Prakriti gata — 'returned to my own nature.' The cosmic vision was overwhelming and temporarily disorienting; the return of the familiar form restores Arjuna's natural equilibrium. But he is not the same Arjuna — the vision has changed him permanently. He is restored to sanity but transformed in understanding.
