tvamādidevaḥ puruṣaḥ purāṇas- tvam asya viśvasya paraṃ nidhānam | vettāsi vedyaṃ ca paraṃ ca dhāma tvayā tataṃ viśvamanantarūpa ||
Translation
You are the primal God, the ancient Purusha. You are the supreme resting place of this universe. You are the knower, the knowable, and the supreme abode. By You is this universe pervaded, O One of infinite form.
Interpretation
Five recognitions: (1) tvam adidevah — You are the primal God, the original deity; (2) purusha puranah — the ancient Person, without beginning; (3) asya vishvasya param nidhanam — the supreme resting place of this universe; (4) vetta asi vedyam — You are both the knower (the subject of all knowing) and the knowable (the object of all knowledge); (5) tvaya tatam vishvam — this universe is pervaded by You. Ananta-rupa — O one of infinite form — one more address to the cosmic reality before Arjuna.
