Bhagavad Gita
11.2

भवाप्ययौ हि भूतानां श्रुतौ विस्तरशो मया । त्वत्तः कमलपत्राक्ष माहात्म्यमपि चाव्ययम् ॥

bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṃ śrutau vistaraśo mayā | tvattaḥ kamalapatrākṣa māhātmyamapi cāvyayam ||

Translation

I have heard from You in detail about the arising and dissolution of beings, O lotus-eyed one, and also of Your imperishable greatness.

Interpretation

Arjuna summarizes what he has received: knowledge of the arising (bhava) and dissolution (apyaya) of beings from the teachings of the previous chapters — the full cosmological picture. And the mahatmyam (greatness, magnificence) of the Divine — avyayam (imperishable, inexhaustible). This verse is both a grateful summary and a preparation: 'I have heard about You; now I want to see You.'
