Bhagavad Gita
11.17

kirīṭinaṃ gadinaṃ cakriṇaṃ ca tejoraśiṃ sarvato dīptimantam | paśyāmi tvāṃ durnirikṣyaṃ samāntad dīptānalārkadyutimaprameyam ||

Translation

I see You with crown, club, and discus — a mass of brilliance shining everywhere, blazing like fire and the sun, hard to behold, immeasurable.

Interpretation

The divine symbols of the cosmic form: the crown (kiritam), club (gadam), and discus (chakram) — the traditional regalia of Vishnu. And the overwhelming quality: tejo-rashim (a mass of brilliance), sarvato dipti-mantam (shining in all directions), durnirikshyam (hard to behold, difficult to look at directly), diptan-alarku-dyutim (blazing like fire and the sun combined), aprameyam (immeasurable, incalculable). The vision is too intense for the ordinary eye — hence the need for divine sight granted in verse 8.
