Bhagavad Gita
10.8

अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्तते । इति मत्वा भजन्ते मां बुधा भावसमन्विताः ॥

ahaṃ sarvasya prabhavo mattaḥ sarvaṃ pravartate | iti matvā bhajante māṃ budhā bhāvasamanvitāḥ ||

Translation

I am the origin of all; from Me all proceeds. Knowing this, the wise worship Me, endowed with loving feeling.

Interpretation

The entire universe — sarvasya prabhava (the origin of all) — the Divine. From the Divine (mattah), all proceeds and operates. The wise (budhah — the awakened ones) know this not as dry theology but as living reality, and they worship the Divine with bhava (feeling, emotion, the quality of the heart). Bhava-samanvita means 'endowed with bhava, accompanied by feeling.' This is the distinction between intellectual understanding and devotion: the same knowledge that could be a dry fact becomes, in the devotee's heart, a continuous source of wonder, love, and worship.
