नान्तोऽस्ति मम दिव्यानां विभूतीनां परन्तप । एष तूद्देशतः प्रोक्तो विभूतेर्विस्तरो मया ॥
nānto'sti mama divyānāṃ vibhūtīnāṃ parantapa | eṣa tūddeśataḥ prokto vibhūtervistaaro mayā ||
Translation
There is no end to My divine vibhutis, O scorcher of foes. What has been declared by Me is only a sample indication of the extent of My manifestation.
Interpretation
The teaching is explicitly incomplete — by design. The catalogue of vibhutis just given is merely uddeshata (an indication, a sample, a selection from an infinite list). The Divine's actual extent of manifestation is ananta — endless. The purpose of the catalogue was not to exhaust the subject but to train the devotee's perception: to see the Divine in what is magnificent, and then to recognize that this same recognition can be applied to everything. The world becomes the theatre of divine self-expression once the eyes have been opened.
