यच्चापि सर्वभूतानां बीजं तदहमर्जुन । न तदस्ति विना यत्स्यान्मया भूतं चराचरम् ॥
yaccāpi sarvabhūtānāṃ bījaṃ tadahamarjuna | na tadasti vinā yatsyānmayā bhūtaṃ carācaram ||
Translation
And also, whatever is the seed of all beings — that too I am, O Arjuna. There is no being, moving or unmoving, that can exist without Me.
Interpretation
The culminating principle of the entire vibhuti teaching: the Divine is the bija (seed) of all beings. Every being, however apparently independent, carries the divine seed as its innermost essence. And the absolute principle: na tat asti — there is nothing, no being (moving — animals; or unmoving — plants, stones), that can exist apart from the Divine. This is the Gita's ontological foundation: the Divine is not just the best in every category but the very ground of being of every category. Nothing exists outside the Divine.
