Bhagavad Gita
1.10

अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम् | पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम् ||१०||

aparyāptaṁ tad asmākaṁ balaṁ bhīṣhmābhirakṣhitam paryāptaṁ tv idam eteṣhāṁ balaṁ bhīmābhirakṣhitam

Translation

Our strength is immeasurable and we are perfectly protected by Grandfather Bhishma, whereas the strength of the Pandavas, carefully protected by Bhima, is limited.

Interpretation

Duryodhana's assessment is a mix of bravado and anxiety. He claims his side is 'immeasurable' (aparyāptam) and the Pandava side 'limited' (paryāptam) — though some scholars read it the opposite way: 'our army is insufficient; theirs is sufficient.' This grammatical ambiguity may reflect Duryodhana's deep-seated doubt beneath his confident exterior.
