Bhagavad Gita
1.9

अन्ये च बहवः शूरा मदर्थे त्यक्तजीविताः | नानाशस्त्रप्रहरणाः सर्वे युद्धविशारदाः ||९||

anye cha bahavaḥ śhūrā mad-arthe tyakta-jīvitāḥ nānā-śhastra-praharaṇāḥ sarve yuddha-viśhāradāḥ

Translation

And there are many other heroes who are prepared to lay down their lives for my sake. All are armed with various weapons and are experienced in military science.

Interpretation

Duryodhana acknowledges many unnamed soldiers who are willing to die for him. The phrase 'for my sake' (mad-arthe) reveals his ego — he sees the entire war as being fought for him personally, not for any higher principle.
