वेदाहं समतीतानि वर्तमानानि चार्जुन । भविष्याणि च भूतानि मां तु वेद न कश्चन ॥
vedāhaṃ samatītāni vartamānāni cārjuna | bhaviṣyāṇi ca bhūtāni māṃ tu veda na kaścana ||
Translation
I know the beings of the past, the present, and the future, O Arjuna. But no one knows Me.
Interpretation
The asymmetry of divine omniscience: Krishna knows all beings across all time — past (samatitani), present (vartamani), and future (bhavishyani). But no one (na kashchana) knows the Divine in its fullness. This is not because the Divine is deliberately hiding but because to know the Divine fully requires becoming the Divine — and that is the very liberation that the Gita points toward. As long as there is a separate knower trying to know the Divine, the Divine as infinite totality remains beyond complete grasp.
