Bhagavad Gita
5.11

कायेन मनसा बुद्ध्या केवलैरिन्द्रियैरपि । योगिनः कर्म कुर्वन्ति सङ्गं त्यक्त्वात्मशुद्धये ॥

kāyena manasā buddhyā kevalairindriyairapi | yoginaḥ karma kurvanti saṅgaṃ tyaktvātmaśuddhaye ||

Translation

Yogis perform action with body, mind, intellect, and senses alone — having abandoned attachment — for the purification of the self.

Interpretation

The yogi uses every instrument available — body (physical action), mind (planning and emotion), intellect (discrimination), and pure sense organs (perception) — but all free from ego-attachment. This is the crucial distinction: ordinary people act with 'I' and 'mine' coloring every action; yogis act as pure instruments of a higher purpose. The result is not worldly gain but something far more valuable: purification of the inner self (antahkarana), which is the direct preparation for liberation.
