Bhagavad Gita
4.41

योगसंन्यस्तकर्माणं ज्ञानसञ्छिन्नसंशयम् | आत्मवन्तं न कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनञ्जय ||४१||

yoga-sannyasta-karmāṇaṁ jñāna-sañchhinna-saṁśhayam ātmavantaṁ na karmāṇi nibadhnanti dhanaṁjaya

Translation

Therefore, one who has renounced the fruits of his action, whose doubts are destroyed by transcendental knowledge, and who is situated firmly in the self, is not bound by works, O conqueror of riches.

Interpretation

The liberated person: all karma surrendered through yoga ('yoga-sannyasta-karmāṇam'), all doubts cut through by wisdom ('jñāna-sañchhinna-saṁśhayam'), firmly established in the Self ('ātmavantam'). For such a person, actions — even in the thick of life — generate no binding karma.
