Translation

Some offer the hearing process and other senses in the fire of mental control, and others offer the objects of the senses, such as sound, in the fire of sacrifice.

Interpretation

Two more forms of yajna: some sacrifice the senses in the fire of self-restraint (offering the sense-organs themselves — their activity is surrendered). Others sacrifice the objects of the senses (sound, touch, etc.) — meaning they engage with sense objects consciously, as an offering, not as indulgence.
