चेतसा सर्वकर्माणि मयि संन्यस्य मत्परः | बुद्धियोगमुपाश्रित्य मच्चित्तः सततं भव ||
cetasā sarva-karmāṇi mayi sannyasya mat-paraḥ buddhi-yogam upāśritya mac-cittaḥ satataṁ bhava
Translation
Mentally renouncing all actions in Me, making Me the highest goal, taking refuge in the yoga of intelligence — fix your consciousness on Me always.
Interpretation
A concentrated distillation of the entire teaching: mentally (cetasa — in the inner being, not necessarily outer) renounce all actions into the Divine (surrender their ownership and fruits to Krishna), make the Divine the ultimate goal (mat-para — whose supreme is Me), take refuge in the yoga of buddhi (the integrated intelligence that discriminates between real and unreal), and let consciousness be fixed on the Divine always. 'Mach-chittah satatam bhava' — 'be of My-consciousness always' — this is the practice in its simplest form.
