भक्त्या मामभिजानाति यावान्यश्चास्मि तत्त्वतः | ततो मां तत्त्वतो ज्ञात्वा विशते तदनन्तरम् ||
bhaktyā mām abhijānāti yāvān yaś cāsmi tattvataḥ tato māṁ tattvato jñātvā viśate tad-anantaram
Translation
Through devotion one truly knows what and who I am in My essence; then, having known Me in truth, one enters into Me immediately.
Interpretation
The supreme epistemology of bhakti: one truly knows (abhijanati — intimate knowing, not mere intellectual understanding) the full extent and nature of the Divine only through devotion. Tattvatah — in truth, in essence — this knowing penetrates to the core. And having known Krishna in truth, the devotee enters into him immediately (tad-anantaram — right then, no delay). The entering is not future — it is the natural, spontaneous consequence of genuine knowing. Love that truly knows its Beloved cannot remain separate from the Beloved.
