Interpretation

The practical application: those who declare Brahman (brahma-vadinah — teachers and practitioners of the Vedic tradition) always begin their acts of sacrifice, charity, and austerity with the utterance of Om. This is not mere ritual convention but the conscious alignment of the individual act with the cosmic Source. To begin with Om is to say: 'This act is not mine alone; I offer it into the infinite.' It transforms the act from private transaction to cosmic participation. Every spiritual practice benefits from this conscious consecration.
