Translation
'This has been gained by me today; this desire I shall also fulfill; this is mine, and this wealth too shall be mine in the future' —
Interpretation
Krishna gives us direct access to the internal monologue of the demoniac mind — a stream of possessive consciousness: 'I got this today... I'll get that next... this is already mine... and more will come.' The repetition of 'me,' 'my,' 'mine' reveals the underlying pathology: an ego that has colonized the universe, turning everything into an extension of itself. This internal monologue is not unique to villains — it runs in the background of most human minds, the constant calculation of acquisition and possession. Recognizing it clearly in ourselves is the beginning of freedom.
