Bhagavad Gita
13.24

य एवं वेत्ति पुरुषं प्रकृतिं च गुणैः सह । सर्वथा वर्तमानोऽपि न स भूयोऽभिजायते ॥

ya evaṃ vetti puruṣaṃ prakṛtiṃ ca guṇaiḥ saha | sarvathā vartamāno'pi na sa bhūyo'bhijāyate ||

Translation

One who thus knows the Purusha and Prakriti, together with the gunas — in whatever state such a person may exist, that person is not born again.

Interpretation

The liberating fruit of this knowledge: ya evam vetti — one who knows in this way — the Purusha (the witnessing Self), Prakriti (material nature), and the gunas (together) — sarvatha vartamano'pi (in whatever state they may exist — whatever their external circumstances, whatever activity they are engaged in) — na sa bhuyo abhijayate — that person is not born again. The knowledge of the field and the Knower, fully realized, is sufficient for liberation. The one who truly knows 'I am the Knower, not the field' does not return to rebirth.
