इति क्षेत्रं तथा ज्ञानं ज्ञेयं चोक्तं समासतः । मद्भक्त एतद्विज्ञाय मद्भावायोपपद्यते ॥
iti kṣetraṃ tathā jñānaṃ jñeyaṃ coktaṃ samāsataḥ | madbhakta etadvijñāya madbhāvāyopapadyate ||
Translation
Thus the field, knowledge, and the knowable have been described briefly. My devotee, knowing this, attains My state.
Interpretation
A summary verse: the teaching of the field (kshetra), knowledge (jnana), and the knowable (jneya) has been given briefly (samasatah — in summary). And the practical application: mad-bhakta etad vijnaya — My devotee, knowing (vijnaniya — having realized, not merely understood intellectually) this — madbhavaya upapadyate — attains My state. The knowledge of the field and Knower leads to identification with the Divine. This is why the chapter is not mere philosophy but a path to liberation.
