तेषामहं समुद्धर्ता मृत्युसंसारसागरात् । भवामि नचिरात्पार्थ मय्यावेशितचेतसाम् ॥
teṣāmahaṃ samuddhartā mṛtyusaṃsārasāgarāt | bhavāmi nacirātpārtha mayyāveśitacetasām ||
Translation
For those who have their minds immersed in Me — I become, O Partha, the deliverer from the ocean of mortal samsara, and quickly.
Interpretation
The Divine's personal promise to the devoted: aham samuddharta (I become the deliverer, the one who lifts out) from mrityu-samsara-sagarat (the ocean of mortal samsara — the vast, life-consuming ocean of birth and death and rebirth). And: na-chirat — quickly, without delay. For those who have their minds completely immersed in the Divine (mayy-aveshita-chetasam), the Divine personally rescues them. This is not a general principle but a personal promise — the Divine comes as the rescuer to the devoted. The ocean of samsara, however vast, cannot withstand the Divine who crosses it as the deliverer.
