श्रीभगवानुवाच मय्यावेश्य मनो ये मां नित्ययुक्ता उपासते । श्रद्धया परयोपेताः ते मे युक्ततमा मताः ॥
śrī bhagavān uvāca mayyāveśya mano ye māṃ nityayuktā upāsate | śraddhayā parayopetāḥ te me yuktatamā matāḥ ||
Translation
The Blessed Lord said: Those who, fixing their minds on Me, worship Me, ever steadfast, endowed with supreme faith — these I consider the most established in yoga.
Interpretation
Krishna answers directly and without equivocation: the devotees of the personal form are the most established in yoga (yuktatamah — the most united). Three characteristics: mayyaveshya mano (mind fixed in Me), nitya-yukta (ever steadfast, perpetually connected), and shraddhaya parayopeta (endowed with supreme faith). These are the highest yogis. The personal path of bhakti — loving, direct, intimate relationship with the Divine — receives the highest praise. This does not condemn the impersonal path; it simply acknowledges the relative accessibility and depth of the personal path.
