Translation
If you are unable to do even this — then, taking refuge in My yoga, abandon the fruits of all actions, with the self controlled.
Interpretation
The final step on the graduated path: if even performing divine service is beyond current capacity, then: sarva-karma-phala-tyagam kuru — 'abandon the fruits of all actions.' This is the core of karma yoga in its most elemental form. Whatever you do — simply release the attachment to results. Yatatmavan — with self-controlled. This single practice — non-attachment to outcomes — transforms all action into a form of yoga and is universally accessible regardless of one's spiritual development. It is the minimum — and somehow also the maximum.
