अभ्यासेऽप्यसमर्थोऽसि मत्कर्मपरमो भव । मदर्थमपि कर्माणि कुर्वन्सिद्धिमवाप्स्यसि ॥
abhyāse'pyasamartho'si matkarmaparo bhava | madarthamapi karmāṇi kurvansiddhimavāpsyasi ||
Translation
If you are incapable even of this practice — then take to the performance of My work as the supreme. Even performing actions for My sake, you shall attain perfection.
Interpretation
A further step down the ladder of accessibility: if even repeated practice (abhyasa) is too demanding, then: mat-karma-paramo bhava — make My work the supreme thing. Do the work of the Divine — acts of service, charity, selfless action done for the sake of the Divine. Mad-artham api karmani kurvan siddhi avapsyasi — 'Performing actions even for My sake, you shall attain perfection.' This is karma yoga elevated to bhakti: work as worship, service as devotion. The Divine accepts even this.
