अर्जुन उवाच स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या जगत्प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते च । रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशो द्रवन्ति सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्धसंघाः ॥
arjuna uvāca sthāne hṛṣīkeśa tava prakīrtyā jagatprahṛṣyatyanurajyate ca | rakṣāṃsi bhītāni diśo dravanti sarve namasyanti ca siddhasaṃghāḥ ||
Translation
Arjuna said: It is right, O Hrishikesha, that the world rejoices and is delighted in glorifying You. The frightened demons flee in all directions, and all the hosts of Siddhas bow down to You.
Interpretation
Arjuna's prayer begins with acknowledgment: sthane (it is right, it is proper). What is proper? The entire universe's response to the cosmic form — the world rejoices (jagat prahrishyaty) and delights (anurajyate) in glorifying the Divine. The demons (rakshamsi) flee in fear; the perfected beings (siddha-sangha) bow down in reverence. Both responses — terror and devotion — are appropriate reactions to encountering the infinite. The Divine's manifestation simultaneously delights those in harmony with it and terrifies those in resistance to it.
