Interpretation

The description of the Vishvarupa begins. The cosmic form has: aneka-vaktra-nayana (many mouths and eyes — not two, but countless, facing all directions), aneka-adbhuta-darshana (many wonderful and astonishing aspects), aneka-divya-abharana (many divine ornaments), and divya-aneka-udyata-ayudha (many divine weapons raised). The superlative repetition of 'aneka' (many, countless) conveys the overwhelming multiplicity of this form. The entire diversity of cosmic existence is being displayed simultaneously.
