आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथा । असितो देवलो व्यासः स्वयं चैव ब्रवीषि मे ॥
āhustv āmṛṣayaḥ sarve devarṣirnāradastathā | asito devalo vyāsaḥ svayaṃ caiva bravīṣi me ||
Translation
All the seers say this of You — the divine sage Narada, as well as Asita, Devala, and Vyasa. And You Yourself declare it to me.
Interpretation
Arjuna grounds his declaration not in personal emotion alone but in the tradition of great seers: Narada (the divine musician-sage, the great devotee), Asita and Devala (ancient sages), and Vyasa (the great compiler of the scriptures, traditionally regarded as the author of the Mahabharata). All of these have declared the same truth about the Divine. And now the Divine itself is confirming it to Arjuna directly. Faith is strengthened both by the testimony of realized beings and by direct personal revelation.
