Bhagavad Gita
1.22

यावदेतान्निरीक्षेऽहं योद्धुकामानवस्थितान् | कैर्मया सह योद्धव्यमस्मिन्रणसमुद्यमे ||२२||

yāvad etān nirīkṣhe'haṁ yoddhu-kāmān avasthitān kair mayā saha yoddhavyam asmin raṇa-samudyame

Translation

Let me see those who have come here to fight, wishing to please the evil-minded son of Dhritarashtra.

Interpretation

Arjuna wants to see who he will fight. This is a warrior's natural reconnaissance — but emotionally, it is the beginning of his downfall. Seeing beloved faces across the battlefield will shatter his warrior resolve.
