प्रकृतिं स्वामवष्टभ्य विसृजामि पुनः पुनः । भूतग्राममिमं कृत्स्नमवशं प्रकृतेर्वशात् ॥
prakṛtiṃ svāmavaṣṭabhya visṛjāmi punaḥ punaḥ | bhūtagrāmamimaṃ kṛtsnamavaśaṃ prakṛterarvaśāt ||
Translation
Taking hold of My own prakriti, I send forth again and again this entire multitude of beings, which is helpless under the force of prakriti.
Interpretation
The Divine, presiding over prakriti (its own material nature), sends forth all beings 'again and again.' The beings themselves are avasha — helpless — under the force (vasat) of prakriti. This is not cruelty but the description of the state of all beings caught in the material cycle without self-knowledge. The Divine is not compelled; it acts by its own will (svam prakritim — My own prakriti, under My control). The beings are driven; the Divine acts. This distinction is precisely what spiritual realization dissolves: realizing one's identity with the Divine rather than the helpless being.
