साधिभूताधिदैवं मां साधियज्ञं च ये विदुः । प्रयाणकालेऽपि च मां ते विदुर्युक्तचेतसः ॥
sādhibhūtādhidaivaṃ māṃ sādhiyajñaṃ ca ye viduḥ | prayāṇakāle'pi ca māṃ te viduryuktacetasaḥ ||
Translation
Those who know Me as governing the physical realm (adhibhuta), the divine realm (adhidaiva), and sacrifice (adhiyajna) — with united minds, they know Me even at the time of departure (death).
Interpretation
This verse concludes Chapter 7 and introduces questions that Chapter 8 will answer. Three domains of knowledge: adhibhuta (the physical world of elements and beings), adhidaiva (the divine world of devas and cosmic principles), and adhiyajna (the domain of sacrifice and worship). The one who understands the Divine as pervading all three levels of existence — physical, cosmic, and ritual — retains this understanding even at the moment of death (prayana-kala). And knowing the Divine at the moment of death is the key to liberation, as Chapter 8 will elaborate.
