उदाराः सर्व एवैते ज्ञानी त्वात्मैव मे मतम् । आस्थितः स हि युक्तात्मा मामेवानुत्तमां गतिम् ॥
udārāḥ sarva evaite jñānī tvātmaiva me matam | āsthitaḥ sa hi yuktātmā māmevānuttamāṃ gatim ||
Translation
All these are indeed noble, but the wise one I consider as My very Self. With self united in yoga, such a one is established in Me alone as the supreme goal.
Interpretation
A stunning admission: Krishna regards the wise devotee as his own Self (atmaiva me matam). This is the ultimate statement of non-duality between the realized devotee and the Divine. The jnani who has fully realized the Divine does not merely love God — they have recognized their identity with the Divine. They are the yuktatma (one whose self is united) and their only home is the Divine (mameva anuttamam gatim — Me alone as the unsurpassable goal). All other four types are noble (udarah) — all are honored — but this one has arrived.
