Bhagavad Gita
6.42

अथवा योगिनामेव कुले भवति धीमताम् । एतद्धि दुर्लभतरं लोके जन्म यदीदृशम् ॥

athavā yogināmeva kule bhavati dhīmatām | etaddhi durlabhataraṃ loke janma yadīdṛśam ||

Translation

Or else one is born in the family of wise yogis. Indeed, such a birth as this is more difficult to obtain in the world.

Interpretation

An alternative even more blessed: rebirth directly in the family of wise yogis. Krishna notes that such a birth (a spiritually charged environment with direct access to wisdom and practice) is exceedingly rare (durlabhataram — more rare). To be born into such a lineage, surrounded by living examples of spiritual realization, with teachings available from childhood — this is the greatest of spiritual gifts. The fallen yogi may attain this by grace of their previous sincere effort.
