कामक्रोधवियुक्तानां यतीनां यतचेतसाम् । अभितो ब्रह्मनिर्वाणं वर्तते विदितात्मनाम् ॥
kāmakrodhaviyuktānāṃ yatīnāṃ yatacetasām | abhito brahmanirvāṇaṃ vartate viditātmanām ||
Translation
Brahma-nirvana exists on all sides for those ascetics who are free from desire and anger, whose minds are subdued, and who have knowledge of the Self.
Interpretation
Brahma-nirvana is not a distant destination but an omnipresent reality. For the one who has freed themselves from desire (kama) and anger (krodha), subdued the mind (yata-cetasam), and gained self-knowledge (viditAtmana) — liberation is already here, all around, on all sides (abhitah). This is the fulfillment of the chapter's teaching: renunciation is not geographical relocation but internal liberation, available here and now.
