janma karma cha me divyam evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ tyaktvā dehaṁ punar janma naiti mām eti so'rjuna
Translation
One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.
Interpretation
The extraordinary promise: one who truly understands (not merely believes, but knows 'tattvataḥ' — in truth) the divine nature of Krishna's births and actions does not return to rebirth at death. This knowledge is not intellectual — it is the direct recognition of the divine nature of reality, which is itself liberating.
