Bhagavad Gita
2.72

एषा ब्राह्मी स्थितिः पार्थ नैनां प्राप्य विमुह्यति | स्थित्वास्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृच्छति ||७२||

eṣhā brāhmī sthitiḥ pārtha naināṁ prāpya vimuhyati sthitvāsyām anta-kāle'pi brahma-nirvāṇam ṛchchhati

Translation

That is the way of the spiritual and godly life, after attaining which a man is not bewildered. If one is thus situated even at the hour of death, one can enter into the kingdom of God.

Interpretation

The concluding verse of Chapter 2: 'Brahmi sthiti' — the state of being established in Brahman. Once attained, it cannot be lost. Even at the moment of death — the ultimate test — one who is established in this state attains Brahma-Nirvana: liberation, the final cessation of the cycle of birth and death. The entire teaching of Chapter 2 ends with the ultimate goal clearly named: freedom, liberation, the kingdom of God.
