Bhagavad Gita
2.21

वेदाविनाशिनं नित्यं य एनमजमव्ययम् | कथं स पुरुषः पार्थ कं घातयति हन्ति कम् ||२१||

vedāvināśhinaṁ nityaṁ ya enam ajam avyayam kathaṁ sa puruṣhaḥ pārtha kaṁ ghātayati hanti kam

Translation

O Partha, how can a person who knows this soul to be indestructible, eternal, unborn, and immutable, kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?

Interpretation

The rhetorical question drives home the teaching: if you truly know the soul is indestructible, what sense does it make to speak of 'killing'? The one who truly knows cannot be the cause of anyone's real destruction. This is not an excuse to avoid responsibility — it is a call to act from a higher understanding that transcends personal ego.
