Translation
Know that knowledge to be sattvic by which one sees the one imperishable Being in all beings — undivided in the divided.
Interpretation
Sattvic knowledge: the vision of unity in diversity — perceiving the one imperishable Being (avyaya bhava — the unchanging, eternal essence) within all beings, undivided even in what appears divided. This is the non-dual vision — not a philosophical theory but a direct perceptual shift: seeing the same Self in all forms, the same light behind all eyes, the same consciousness inhabiting every body. This is both the fruit of advanced meditation and the foundation of genuine compassion: when you see yourself in others, harm to them becomes inconceivable.
