अस्माकं तु विशिष्टा ये तान्निबोध द्विजोत्तम | नायका मम सैन्यस्य संज्ञार्थं तान्ब्रवीमि ते ||७||
asmākaṁ tu viśhiṣṭā ye tān nibodha dvijottama nāyakā mama sainyasya saṁjñārthaṁ tān bravīmi te
Translation
O best of the twice-born, let me also tell you about the distinguished leaders on our side who are especially qualified to lead my military forces.
Interpretation
Duryodhana now turns to enumerate his own warriors. The address 'dvijottama' (best of the twice-born, meaning Brahmins) to Drona is respectful, acknowledging the teacher's status even while making a military assessment.
