Bhagavad Gita
8.8

अभ्यासयोगयुक्तेन चेतसा नान्यगामिना । परमं पुरुषं दिव्यं याति पार्थानुचिन्तयन् ॥

abhyāsayogayuktena cetasā nānyagāminā | paramaṃ puruṣaṃ divyaṃ yāti pārthānucintayan ||

Translation

With a mind made steady by the yoga of practice, not going anywhere else, constantly meditating — one attains the Supreme Divine Purusha, O Partha.

Interpretation

The method for cultivating the habit of remembrance: abhyasa-yoga (the yoga of repeated practice) and a mind that does not wander elsewhere (nanya-gamina — not going anywhere else). This is not the forced suppression of thoughts but the gradual training, through consistent practice, of the mind to return to the Divine. Like water that finds its level after each disturbance, the practiced mind returns spontaneously to the Divine. The fruit: the Supreme Divine Person (paramam purusham divyam) is attained.
